A Message from the Principal
Welcome Back Ware Middle School!
It is an exciting time at Ware Middle School! For some it is a return to familiar friends and faces, saying good bye to old friends as they move to a new school and for others it is a transition to a new building which is all part of their academic journey. The past year has been challenging for all of us as we have learned to navigate a new way of learning, mastering technology, virtual TEAM meetings, changing how we manage day to day tasks and understanding just how important family is to all of us.
I am excited to introduce myself as one of the new faces you will see as I step into the role of Principal at Ware Middle School. My name is Kimberly Thompson and I am honored to have been chosen to become part of the WMS family. My career has taken me many places but it is my love of educating the students of Ware that has kept me here for the better of part of 18 years. I have had the privilege to be part of so many student’s first steps in their academic journey, while supporting their families and building relationships which have lasted throughout the years.
As Principal, I value communication and building strong relationships with students and their families. The Assistant Principal, April Huckaby and I will communicate with families through our school email, by phone, and by accessing the teacher’s communication apps, Remind, Dojo, and SeeSaw. We strongly believe a positive home-school connection is a key ingredient for a successful school year. Research indicates that families who take an active role in their students learning have students who have improved success at school. We encourage families to reach out to the classroom teachers during the school year, communicate with them regularly and keep them up to date with any changes which may affect their child.
At Ware Middle School we strive to challenge each student academically, while providing opportunities to foster their moral, social, and character development. It is our goal to ensure every child feel welcomed, connected and part of the Ware Middle School family.
I am confident that together we will build a community of learners as we challenge them to stretch their imaginations.
I am excited for an amazing school year!
