This is the image for the news article titled 6th Grade Pumpkin ProjectOn October 31st, sixth graders participated in a hands on pumpkin project.

The first steps of the directions were as follows. Every student brought in a pumpkin that was first weighed and recorded. The students proceeded to gut and remove all seeds. Once done, students had to weigh and record the emptied pumpkin. They subtracted the weight of their empty pumpkin to the weight of their original pumpkin to find the weight of all seeds. The seeds were then counted. They took the weight of all the seeds and divided that by number of seeds they counted to find the weight of 1 seed.

At the end of the project, the directions said: "if you take the weight of one seed and divide it by the weight of all seeds, you can find the total number of seeds your pumpkin has without counting them!"
