Ware Middle School's New Art Teacher!!

Elizabeth Hanley, the new Middle School art teacher, is excited to begin her teaching career in Ware.  A recent graduate from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, she spent her last semester student teaching in the Ware Junior Senior High School, under the guidance of Mrs. Pamela Grant in the spring of 2015. After such a positive and educational experience in the Ware public school system, she was thrilled to be offered a teaching position at the Middle school.

Born and raised in Leicester, MA, Elizabeth attended Leicester Public  Schools graduating in 2010. During her time at Leicester High, she was a three sport student-athlete, and was heavily active in the art and theatre programs. She went on to attend UMass Amherst where she received her Bachelors in Fine Arts degree, majoring in Art Education and Painting. While attending UMass she studied abroad in France and further emerged herself into the arts.

Throughout her college years she worked at the Rainbow Child Development Center in Worcester, Ma. It was during her time at Rainbow, while bonding and growing strong relationships with the vibrant children, that she discovered her passion for teaching. In her final year at UMass, she completed her Thesis exhibition, painting portraits of some of the children at Rainbow who impacted and shaped her life.

Ms. Hanley will be starting Art Club this January. She is excited to further interact with her students, while extending the learning and love of art outside the classroom.
